Last Sunday, Sept 7, 2014, we met with Dion Pulan of Bangkong Kahoy in Barangay Kinabuhayan in Dolores, Quezon.
Bangkong Kahoy is in the valley of the sacred Mount Banahaw which is only a 40-minute drive away from the cafe. If you take Barangay Sta. Cruz Putol and go a little further, you will eventually slow down and fall more in love with the Philippines for what it REALLY is. (See photo below)
Dion discussed his advocacy in preserving the environment as the mid-afternoon breeze cooled us down. It is quite enthralling to dream of changing the mindset of the many for the greater common good.
I am looking forward to seeing Dion again and spend more time in Bangkong Kahoy. Maybe next time I will be there earlier so I can get more mushrooms.
On our way back, we went down to one of the vendors in Barangay Kinabuhayan and took some photos.
Don't forget to check out Bangkong Kahoy's website.
